ROBERT
CARRUTHERS
AERATED AND MINERAL
WATER MANUFACTURER
Newall
Terrace,
Dumfries
Robert Carruthers Ginger
Beer bottles are one of the most common of Dumfries GB's,
he was one of the most successful Mineral Water Manufacturers in the
town. He was a fellow of the Chemical Society, one of his claims were
that his Ginger Beer was made in
'Silver lined machinery
from pure spring water drawn from an artesian well
403 feet deep'
He produced Ginger Beer
until the 1930's what was strange is that no one has ever dug a 'Codd'
bottle from his company or a 'Hamilton' I would be very interested in
seeing one or even a photo.
Below are two rare photo's
of the Mineral
Water Factory.
